Lotus Exige or Sports Coupe?
Hi there. I am looking to upgrade my current car to a new one. I am a keen car enthusiast and a right petrol head.Me and my mates tend to have a bit of banter on the roads, quite alot actually , and regularly go out for long drives on our days off, often into the country side and beyond a good 100mile plus trip .My question is though, my next car I am looking at a used 2007 BMW 335i manual . I am loooking at them on Autotrader, and they sit on 16,000 17,000 used. quite a bargain if you ask me . But for the same money, 17,000 18,000. You are looking at okay, older 2005 Lotus Exiges...I realise the 0 60 of the base Exige is 4.9 seconds, and i've read the 5.5s 0 60 time of the 335i is claimed, and the true time is genuinely close to 5.0 dead. Now with the cars being similar in performance. I am now undecided on either car. What would you guys get? A true petrol head, driver like me. Who enjoys banter on the roads there is a lot of competition between me and my mates and we have little road races here and there when the roads are quiet, of course . We are not boy racers or " ricers" by any means and we've never been caught speeding, never been involved in an accident and never crashed into anything Basically I have a big ego and want to have the best car out of all my friends. Currently the cars in our group include an 05 subaru STI, an 07 Audi S3 and a Honda s2000.Also having a big ego I want people to compliment my car lol I am thinkin i will get more attention with the Lotus but this will be my every day car how practical is the lotus to drive commute 15000 miles a year accross britains motorways and in and about the city center traffic. Is the ride comfortable when the roads get bumpy like out in the far country roads? Thanks. The only reason I am not jumping at the Lotus for my next car is purely and simply 2 things.1. Is the Lotus practical enough for 15,000 miles a year. with servicing and fuel consumption .2. Is it comfortable and able to handle rough country roads? as it's more track orientated and designed for smooth tarmac tracks how will it handle rocky, poorly maintained country roads .And I'll just add one is the car comfortable enough to tollerate a 2 hour drive every day. hour each way ....because obviously, if I pick the sports coupe, BMW Audi, etc Then I do not need to worry at all about practicallity, ride comfort or fuel consumption.
What would you chose? A Gen II Viper GTS or Lotus Exige S?
Well I have about 40k to spend on a exotic sports car. I just sold my MKIV Supra and C5 vette so I don't really want either of those. I think I have it narrowed down to a blue w white stripe 96 97 Viper or 2007 Lotus Exige S?I like how they both look equally but the lotus is way more rare. But the viper is much faster. Both have their ups and downs. Tell me what you guys think. Thanks
